Design-Side Construction Support

Keep the plan connected to what the field discovers.

Practical coordination from preconstruction through closeout.

Lunex supports contractors and network owners with constructability reviews, design clarifications, controlled field revisions, and record-drawing updates. We do not perform construction; we help the design respond when field conditions, permit requirements, or construction feedback require a practical change.

The Work Behind the Drawings

Route decisions made visible.

Construction teams often see constraints that are not fully visible in the original record. A useful design-support process captures that feedback, evaluates the effect on route geometry and permit conditions, and communicates the approved revision clearly.

We establish a defined channel for questions, markups, photos, redlines, and decision tracking. That structure helps prevent informal field changes from becoming disconnected from the plan set or lost before closeout.

Capabilities

Focused support for the full design record.

01

Preconstruction review

Route walkthroughs, constructability questions, critical crossings, equipment placement, restoration concerns, and open-item tracking.

02

Field clarification support

Review of photos, markups, survey information, and contractor questions with coordinated design responses.

03

Controlled field revisions

Updated alignments, structures, callouts, details, and affected sheets with clear revision history.

04

Closeout documentation

Redline incorporation, as-built drafting, record PDFs, CAD, GIS or KMZ deliverables, and final consistency checks.

Typical Deliverables

Clear outputs for the next decision.

Scope and formats are tailored to the owner, contractor, jurisdiction, and intended review stage.

  • Constructability review comments
  • RFI and field-question exhibits
  • Revised plan sheets
  • Field-change and decision logs
  • As-built drawings
  • Closeout CAD, PDF, GIS, and KMZ files

How We Work

A controlled path from scope to issue.

  1. 01

    Establish the feedback path

Agree on contacts, review turnaround, markup format, decision authority, and the plan version used in the field.

  2. 02

    Review the condition

Assess the field information, route impact, ROW or permit constraints, utility considerations, and available alternatives.

  3. 03

    Coordinate the revision

Document the selected response and update the affected geometry, callouts, quantities, notes, and sheets.

  4. 04

    Close the record

Incorporate final redlines, reconcile documents, complete QA/QC, and issue the agreed record deliverables.

A Good Fit For

Teams that need the design to stay practical.

  • Turnkey contractors needing a responsive design partner
  • Projects with active field adjustments
  • Owners requiring controlled record documents
  • Routes where constructability feedback is essential

Scope note: Lunex provides design and coordination services only. Construction, utility locating, and field execution remain the responsibility of the applicable contractor and qualified field providers.

Common Questions

Straight answers before kickoff.

Can Lunex attend site or construction meetings?

Yes, when appropriate to the project. Lunex primarily coordinates remotely and can support client-office or project-site meetings by appointment.

Can a field change be made without permit review?

That depends on the jurisdiction, permit conditions, and scope of the change. We help document the revision and coordinate whether agency review or notification is required.

Does Lunex prepare as-built drawings?

Yes. We can incorporate contractor redlines and approved field records into final CAD, PDF, GIS, or KMZ deliverables according to the client’s closeout standard.
